Raw oysters!

I ate a rather interesting meal, well an appetizer that is, on one of my trips. Raw oysters! But instead of with lemon and tabasco or horse radish I ate them with a sauce which contained red-wine vinegar and shallots. I wonder if these would sell here in the US?
